Vivekananda Rock Memorial, Kanyakumari


VIVEKANANDA ROCK MEMORIAL is a holy monument located in Kanyakumari, India. It is one of the most famous attractions. It is 200 meters from shore and constructed in Indian style.

It was built on two rocks in 1970 by the Vivekananda rock memorial committee and the gap between two rocks is 70 meters. It was built in respect to swami Vivekananda that he had meditated on this rock. It consists of Vivekananda Mandapam and Shripada mandapam are opposite to each other. Vivekananda mandapam has Dhyana mandapam (meditation hall) with six rooms, Sabha mandapam or assembly hall (swami Vivekananda statue is present) is designed in Indian architecture, Mukha mandapam. Shripada mandapam has inner prakaram, outer prakaram, Garba graham. The whole mandapam is designed like Sri Ramakrishna Temple, Belur and the entrance like Ajanta and Ellora style. People come here to meditate and relax from all over the world. From the past the rock is treated as a holy place and it is thought that rock is touched by the feet and blessed by Devi Kumari. So it is known as “Sripada Parai”. The whole memorial is surrounded by three merge seas known as Arabian Sea, Bay of Bengal, and Indian Ocean. It was built by 650 men in 2081 days under Sri S.K.Achari. This place is peace and calm. Visiting hours are from 7am to 5pm. It is closed on Tuesdays. You can reach to Kanyakumari by bus, train or air and from shore you can reach to Vivekananda rock memorial by boat.

Wat Pho, Bangkok

WAT PHO is a Buddhist temple situated in Bangkok. It is one of the largest and oldest in Bangkok. It is also called as the reclining Buddha temple or Wat Phra Chetuphon or rajwaramahaviharn.

It covers an area of 20 acres. The Buddha is 15 meters high and 46 meters long and had a pillow under his head and it is surrounded by candles. Wat Pho contains 1000 images in the grounds. It was built before 200 years in 1788 by king Ayutthaya and Pet raja and again it was rebuilt by King Rama I in 1824 to 51. The outer layer of Buddha is decorated with gold and the eyes and bottom of Buddha’s feet is decorated with mother of pearl and the feet are of Indian and Chinese styles. The Wat Pho is a center for massage, meditations and medicines. Wat Pho has two walled compounds are north and south compounds. In northern compound it has Wat Phra Chetuphon and a massage school and on southern compound it has a school and Buddhist monetary. Around the temple there are beautiful gardens. Before going inside the temple visitors should leave their shoes. The visiting hours are from 8am to 5pm and the break timings are 12pm to 1pm, entrance fee is 50 baht. It is one of the popular visiting places.

Colosseum, Italy


COLOSSEUM or Rome Colosseum is situated in Italy. Colosseum latin name was Amphitheatrum Flavium. It is one of the Seven Wonders of the World. It was built by emperor Vespasian between 70 and 72 AD and completed by Titus in 80 AD. It is in elliptic shape.

It covers about 6 acres and holds more than 50,000 people. The building is at a height of 40 meters, 156 meters wide, 189 meters long and covered with velarium to protect the people from sun. It consists of four floors and has around 80 entrances. In the second and third floors statues are present. The upper floor is for poor people and lower floor is for rich people. Below the ground was for mechanical devices and wild animals. Colosseum is mainly used for entertainment to the public with games and another show was the animal hunt, dramas etc. games end with fights between gladiators or animals and gladiators. The used animals like elephants, beers, giraffes, tigers, crocodiles. They brought these animals from Africa and Middle East. Huge number of peoples and animals are died in these games. Colosseum is made of tufa, bricks and marbles. It is completely destroyed today but it is one of the most popular tourist attractions. Now there is a museum in the upper floor of the building. Visiting hours from March to October are 9am to 6:30pm and from November to February are 9am to 3pm.

Victoria Memorial, Kolkata

VICTORIA MEMORIAL is situated in Kolkata, India. It is a beautiful monument opened in the year 1921. 

It was designed by Sir William Emerson. After the death of Queen Victoria, Lord Curzon build Victoria memorial of hid dream. He received funds from princely states. It covers an area of about 64 acres. It was built between 1906 to 1921. The weight of the building is 80,300 tons. The total cost of this memorial is 300,000 dollars. Construction was completed in 15 years. The building is made up of whit marbles and it is surrounded by gardens. Above the central of dome Angel of victory holding a bugle in her hand. Inside the hall it has so many oil paintings, water colors and images of King George and Queen Victoria, Queen Mary. You can 3,500 articles in the memory of queen Victoria. From these articles you can find queen dresses, weapons and rosewood piano. Victoria memorial is divided in to different parts like library, garden, stamps, manuscripts, and articles like dragger of Tipu sultan etc. Victoria memorial is famous as Raj Era monument. Visiting hours from March to April are 10 am to 5 pm and from November to February 10 am to 4 pm. It is closed on Mondays.  You can reach there by bus or taxies. Inside the memorial photography s prohibited. 

Salarjung Museum

SALARJUNG MUSEUM is situated on Musi River in Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh, India. It is the third largest museum in India.

 Mir Yusuf Ali Khan was the prime minister of Nizam of Hyderabad. He was also known as Salar Jung 3. He was the only man who collected all the antiques present in this museum. He spent a lot of money for buying the antiques. Some of the items present in this museum were taken from his father and grand father. The collection is from all over the world. It was opened on 1952, Dec 16th. It has more than 50,000 books, 43000 art objects and 9000 manuscripts. The collections are Indian art, children art, European art, far eastern art, Middle Eastern art. Indian art consists of painted textiles, wood carvings, stone sculptures, jade carvings, textiles, manuscript, metal ware etc. European art contains water color and oil paintings. Far eastern art contains paintings, bronze, enamel etc. Museum is in semicircular shape and it contains two floors. In the first floor it contains 20 rooms and in the second floor it contain 18 rooms. Museum contains white marble statue of veiled Rebecca, crafted knives of Mughal emperor Jahangir and Queen Noor Jehan.  Museum contains 100 year old clock. A complete room is for the children’s who are interested in toys, puppets etc. In 1961 it is declared as the “institution of national importance”. You can also get the books in different languages and you can find various items like paintings, furniture’s, snuff boxes, archer’s rings, ornaments etc. The best attraction is present in clock room.  In the clock room it contains more than 300 clocks. The visiting hours are from 10 am to 5 pm. It is closed only on Fridays. You can go to the museum by bus or other transportation.

Bahai Temple, Delhi

Delhi is the home for various tourist attractions among them  BAHAI Temple is one. 

BAHAI TEMPLE is situated in Bahapur, Delhi. It is also known as Lotus temple because of its nine sided circular shape it look like a flower. It is one of the most beautiful temple in India. It is a house to worship god and a famous attraction in Delhi. Its construction was completed in 1986. It won various awards and placed in various magazines and newspapers. Bahai temple looks like Sydney opera house. This temple is open to all religious and cultures without any restrictions. Temple has nine entrances. It was constructed by using marbles, sand, cement and dolomite. It covers an area of 26 acre more than 2,500 people can fit in it. The central hall is 40 meters tall. It was designed by Fariborz Sahba. Around 800 employees worked to complete the temple in 10 years. People come here to do meditations and prayers and musical instruments can not be played inside and no pictures, images and statues are displayed. Around the temple gardens and pools are present. Inside the temple it is silent and peace. Visitors should take off his shoes before entering to the temple. Temple open from Tuesday to Sunday and the visiting hours are from 10 am to 4 pm. At the night time light glows beautifully one can enjoy it from 1 km away. It is visible from entire south Delhi. Day by day tourists are increasing to this place.

Manchu Picchu

MACHU PICCHU is situated 8000 feet above sea level. It is located above the Urubamba valley, Peru and it is 80 km northwest to Cuzco, the Urubamba river flows through it. 

Manchu Picchu is also referred to as “The lost city of Incas”. Manchu Picchu was an estate of Inca emperor, Pachacuti. It is the most popular tourism center. It is the familiar symbol to Inca Empire. Manchu Picchu was started building at AD 1430 by Incas but it doesn’t known to the outside world. It received publicity only when National geographic society loyal to Manchu Picchu in April 1913.  It was built with polished dry stone walls. We can know the exact time by sun rays falling on Manchu Picchu.Its main buildings are sun temple, room of the three windows, and Intihuatana stone. The Intihuatana stone is believed has it holds the sun directly in its place. It is also called as “The Hitching point of the sun”. The stone was damaged when a 450 kg crane was fell on it in 2000 September. It covers an area of about 325.92 sq km. on July 7, 2007 it is declared as one of the seven wonders of the world. It was given a name as a world heritage site in 1983. Manchu Picchu has a pleasant climate than the Inca capital. 

Buckingham Fountain, Chicago

The BUCKINGHAM FOUNTAIN is the most beautiful and one of the largest fountains  in the world. 

It is located in Grant park, Chicago. It was designed by French sculptor Marcel F. Loyau. Fountain was donated by Kate Buckingham to the city in the memory of her late brother Clarence Buckingham..  It was opened in May 26, 1927.  It contains 1,500,000 U.S gallons of water. It is constructed of pink marble. The four sea horses are present on its side it represent the four states touch the lake are Indiana, Wisconsin, Michigan, lllinois. The fountain displays water from 10 am to 11 pm everyday from April to October. water runs for 20 min every hour. The central jet  rises water up to a height of 150 feet. The last show begins at 10 pm. Fountain contains 820 lights. It contains 134 jets and display water are powered by three pumps. The bottom of the pool is 280 feet. In fountain’s pump house Honeywell excel plus computers are located. The computers are brought from Georgia, Atlanta. While the water is displayed at the same time the light and music starts. At the night time the lights glows beautifully. The fountain will be closed in winter and there will be a holiday music and light presentation.

Statue of Christ Redeemer, Brazil

CHRIST REDEEMER is a statue of Jesus Christ located in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. It is one of the largest of its kind and one of the wonders of the world. It is a beautiful monument. 

The statue stands on a rounded stone and it is 38 meters high and 30 meters wide. Its  weight is 645  tons. The statue is very important  symbol  of  Brazil’s Christianity. The first idea for building the statue was by Catholic priest Pedro Maria Boss and it was rejected. And second idea was proposed  by Archdiocese of Rio de Janeiro. He performed an event to get donations. Most of the donations came from Brazilian Catholics. Statue was designed by Heitor da Silva Costa and was sculpted French sculptor Paul Landowski. The statue structure was build by concrete instead of steel because of its cross shaped structure. The outer layers are used with soapstone. The statue was chosen with open arms. The left arm points to the north zone and right arm to the south zone. It took nine years to complete the construction from 1922 to 1932 and was opened on October 12, 1931. The cost of the statue was $250,000. One can reach the statue by crossing 222 steps or by escalators. You can view the statue from throughout the Brazil. It is located at the peak of the Corcovado mountain (700 meters) in the Tijuca forest national park looking the city. From Cosme Velho district you can go to the statue of christ by bus or train. It take 17 minutes to go there. 

Golconda Fort, Hyderabad

When we think of HYDERABAD we first remember GOLCONDA FORT. It is a beautiful monument located on the western outskirts of Hyderabad city, India. It is 11 km away from the city. It is built on a granite hill having a height of 120 meters. Golconda is also known as “ Golla  Konda ” or “Shepherd’s hill” in telugu. 

Ibrahim Quli Qutb Shah Wali was the builder of Golconda. He had ruled the kingdom of Golconda from 1521 and was the fourth Qutb King. Golconda is very famous for diamond trade. Golconda consists of  four forts. Inside the fort it has eight gateways, temples, number of  halls, mosques etc. The main gate is Fateh Darwaza. The main entrance of fort is Bala Hissar Gate situated on the eastern side and above the doors it has peacocks. When you clap your hands below the dome at the entrance continuously we can heard at the “Bala Hissar”, almost one km away, in case of any attack for royals it worked as a warning note. The gates of fort are decorated with iron spikes. They used spikes because to keep fort safe from elephants. The fort also has tombs, this tombs are situated 1km north of the outer wall of Golconda. You can see Taramathi Gana and premathi Nritya Mandir outside of Golconda fort. You can enjoy the light and sound show in gonconda fort. The shows start at evening and the show timing in winter are 6:30 pm and in summer are 7 pm. Entrance fee is 120 for adults and 100 for children. 

Victoria Falls

VICTORIA FALLS is one of the wonders of the world. The beauty of these waterfalls is awesome.  It is a waterfall situated in southern Africa on a Zambezi river between the countries of Zimbabwe and Zambia. It is the highest waterfall in the world. It is also called as Mosi-oa-Tunya. In 1851, Livingstone first heard about waterfalls and he visit there at 1855. Its height is 108 meters and width is 1,708 meters. The falls rainy season is from late November to early April and the rest of the year is dry season. In dry season you can walk on the edge of the falls. The river’s flood season is from February to May and the falls flow with full power, it is impossible to see the foot and face of the falls. The falls spray rises to a height of 400 meters and sometimes even twice and it is visible from 50 km away. You can see the waterfalls from air through fixed wing flights and Micro light. Helicopter flights are also available. Below the falls it has 39 species of fish and 89 species above it. You can also buy crafts from Mukuni Victoria falls craft village. Mosi oa Tunya National park is 12 km away from the Victoria falls. It is 64 square km and it has so many animals and birds. One can take a drive around the park. It is becoming the most famous tourist center. The number of visitors to the Victoria falls are increasing day by day.

Pyramid of Giza

The great PYRAMID OF GIZA is the largest of the Seven Wonders of the World. Pyramid of Giza is one of the famous tourism place in the world. It is located in Egypt. It is also called as pyramid of Khufu, Khufu’s pyramid, pyramid of Cheops. It is largest of the three pyramids. The pyramid looks like a triangle on it sides and a square in its base. It covers an area of 13 acres. The height of the pyramid is 450 feet and it has 203 steps from its lower to the highest point.  It was built as a tomb during the rule of king or queen of Khufu , fourth dynasty Egyptian and constructed over 20 year period around 2560 BC. It was a man-made structure for over 3,800 years and it was covered by stones. Inside the pyramid it has three chambers. The lowest chamber was built and was unfinished, Queen’s  chamber and  King’s  chamber. The lowest chamber is the largest of the three chambers. pyramid also included two mortuary temples, for Khufu’s wives three small pyramids, smaller satellite pyramid, and small mastaba tombs. Pyramid consists of more than 2.3 million limestone blocks and each stone has a weigh of 2 to 70 tons. The Egyptians carried the lime stones through boat along the Nile river to the pyramid. The mysteries of the pyramid is that how they planned the construction. One hundred thousand people worked for three months each year. The temperature inside the pyramid is at a constant of 68 degrees Fahrenheit.

Eiffel Tower, Paris

EIFFEL TOWER is the tallest tower in Paris. It is one of the recognizable tower in the world. It is an iron tower built on the Champ De Mars beside the river Seine. It is fifth tallest structure in France and has become a global icon in France. It has an elegant shape.

In French it is called as tour Eiffel and it is 324m high and antenna is 24 m. Eiffel tower is made up of metal, its weight is 7,300 tones and the structure of non metal components is 10,000 tones. 50 to 60 tones of paints are applied to the tower once every seven years to protect it from rust. We can enter to the first and second level through lift or stairways. You should take the ticket at the entrance. You can enter the third floor only through lift. The actual count of stairs is 328 steps to the first level, 340 steps to the second level. The tower has two restaurants altitude 95 on the first floor and Jules Verne on the second floor. People can walk through it and enjoy the climate.

Mysore Palace

The beauty of MYSORE PALACE is because of its Indo-Saracenic styles of architecture. It is one of the largest palace in the country. It is also known as AMBA VILAS. The palace is situated in Mysore, India. It is 140 km away from Bangalore. It is surrounded by a large garden. Visitors should not miss to see palace when it is decorated on occasions and Sundays. First the palace was built with wood it was burnt down in 1897 and again it was rebuilt by Henry Irwin, British architect in 1912.

It was initially built during the Muslim Dynasty of Tipu Sultan and Haider. After their loss of power, the Wondeyars rebuilt the palace in the 14th century from Muslim way to Hindu style. It was constructed in different styles. It is a three storied stone structure build with gray granite, pink marble dome and a 145 feet five storied tower. The front of the building has seven expansive arches and two smaller ones flanking the central arch which is supported by tall pillers. Above the central arch the goddess Gajalakshmi is present with her elephants. Every year on the grounds of palace Mysore Dasara festival is celebrated. During this festival more than 10,000 lights are illuminated. Entry to the Mysore palace is through Dolls pavilion or Gombe Thotti. The outside construction and domes are of Muslim architecture and the interior of the palace is of Hindu architecture. The visiting hours of the palace are 10am to 5:30 pm and some strict restrictions to be followed are photography is prohibited and shoes have to left outside the entrance. Entry fee is 15rs per head. On Sundays and holidays visiting hours is 7pm to 8pm.

Hawa Mahal

HAWA MAHAL in situated in Jaipur, India. It is one of the most popular places and it looks like crown of Krishna. It was created by Lal Chand Usta and built by Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh in 1799. Its style is of Rajputana architecture and influenced by mughal architecture. It has pyramid shape and has five floors. It is 50 feet high. Mahal is built with pink and red sandstone and has 953 windows. The pink windows are known as “Jharokhas”. Hawa Mahal is built for the royal family ladies and they have special rooms because they can enjoy by watching different activities performed in the streets through windows. They do not want to show their face to public. Hawa Mahal doesn’t contain stairs it contain ramp to reach upper floor. Women are dressed with pink, yellow, red color and men dressed with white dhoti and shirt while entering to the city. Visit the mahal in the early morning so you can enjoy the glory.

Forbidden City

FORBIDDEN CITY is present in the middle of Beijing, china. It was the best imperial palace during the Ming and Qing dynasties. It was the home of 24 emperors. It is known as GU GONG in Chinese. It is recognized as one of the world’s largest five palaces in the world. It was built between 1406 and 1420. Now it is called as palace museum. Now it is a public museum attracting the tourists from around the world. It has a long 500 years history.

It is rectangular in shape and covers 74 hectares of ground. It is surrounded by a ten meter high walls and six meters deep moat. At each side gates are present to the wall. The distance between the gates of east and west walls are 750 meters. Opposite the Tiananmen gate to the north is Divine might gate. The distance between these two gates walls are 960 meters. Towers are present on the four corners of the walls. The Forbidden City is divided in to two parts i.e; northern section and southern section. Northern section is also known as inner court where the emperor lived with his family. Southern section is also known as outer court where the emperor exercised his greatest power over the nation. There are 800 buildings that have 9000 rooms in total. Chinese government has invested a lot of money and time in the city. They used white marbles and decorated with paintings. So it creates and outstanding beauty. The opening hours are 8:30 to 4:20 from Oct 16 to Apr 16 and 8:30 to 5:00 from Apr 16 to Oct 15.

Beautiful monument-Taj Mahal

TAJ MAHAL is the most beautiful monument of Agra, India. Everyone would like to see the stunning beauty of it. It is one of the wonders of the world. It was built by a Shah Jahan’s (real name Shahub-ud-din) in the memory of his lovely wife Mumtaz ( real name Arjumand Banu). It was build after the death of his wife. It is near the bank of river Yamuna. It was constructed over a period of twenty two years, twenty thousand workers participated in it.

It was constructed using materials from Asia and all over the world and they are brought using 1000 elephants. Construction was completed in 1648 C.E. at a cost of 32 million rupees. It was entirely build of white marbles. White marbles are brought from Rajasthan, jasper from Punjab, jade from china. It was built on 313 sq feet platform. Taj mahal has four tapering minarets at each corner. Its center dome is fifty eight feet in diameter and at a height of 213 feet. The sides of the dome have four subsidiary domed chambers. They are 162.5 feet each. The interior walls are about 25 meters high. The entire mahal was decorated with flowers and handmade gems such as jasper and agate. The mahal glows like a light of the full moon. Around the mahal a large 300 meter square Mughal garden or Charbagh is present. Marble water tank was present in the middle of the garden it is called as Hawd-al-kawthar. The garden is laid of fountain and trees.

Beautiful nature of Munnar

MUNNAR is the beautiful and cool pleasant atmosphere. Everyone should visit the Munnar to enjoy the beauty of nature. In tamil the word munnar means three rivers. Munnar is one of the most beautiful hill stations at Idukki district of Kerala in south india. It is the royal family of poonjar.

It is situated at a height 0f 5000 to 8000 ft above sea level. Munnar on the western Ghats has teas estates, forests, lakes, reservoirs, water falls. All kinds of animals and birds are found. It is also known as Nature Lovers paradise and is very popular for tea Industries. There are about 30 tea plantations in and around munnar. It is very famous for honeymooners and tourists from all over the world.

It offers a variety of attractions to the visitors in terms of sight seeing. You can see the attractions of munnar with backwater. You can find varieties of plants and medicinal properties in the forest. These plants can be used in Ayurveda. The three Mountain Rivers come together in munnar i.e; Mudrapuzha, Kundala, Nallathanni. In munnar we can find a variety of plants known as Neelkurinji, once every 12 years massive amount of flowers grow.

Statue of Liberty

STATUE OF LIBERTY is one of the most universal symbols of democracy and political freedom. It is situated on Liberty island in New York harbor, America. It was presented by the people of France to the united state of America. It was dedicated on October 28, 1886. The statue also known as “Miss Liberty” or “Lady Liberty”. It has become a symbol of republicanism and freedom.

It welcomes the people who comes to live Permanently in this country, visitors etc. It was a joint effort between France and America. Liberty is made of copper and iron. 81,300 kilograms of copper is used and 113,400 km of iron is used. Total weight of the statue is225 tons. It was designed by Brother Frederic A. Bartholdi (1834-1904). The height of statue of liberty is 305 feet. The statue is holding a torch and a book in hand it is made of pure copper. The statue stands on a rectangular stonework pedestal, it has a irregular eleven-pointed shape. It was constructed by hundreds of workers and it was completed in 9 years. 350 statue pieces were packed in to 214 crates and brought from France to New York harbor. It has 354 steps inside the statue and 25 viewing windows in crown. People can view inside the statue through a glass and can capture photos and walk on the observation deck but cannot enter the statue or climb to the torch.

British Museum

The British museum in London is the most important and one of the world’s largest museum. It is a museum of culture and human history. It was established in 1973 and was largely based on the collections of physician and scientist sir Hans Sloane. It was first opened to the public on 15 January 1759 in Montagu house in Bloomsbury, on the site of the current museum building.

Its collections are more than seven billion objects from all continents. Due to lack of space many of the artifacts are stored underneath. It doesn’t contain entry fee like other art galleries and main museums. Only for some special exhibitions entry fee is charged. The present director is Neil Macgregor and chairman is sir John Boyd. The museum collections had increased so that the building was not enough for them. The museum was founded 250 years ago as an encyclopedia of art and nature. The departments of roman and Greek antiquities of the British museum have one of the world's largest and most comprehensive collections of antiquities from the classical world, with 10,000 objects. In 19th century the collection of sculpture began to be laid. The department of the British library provided space needed for the books. The departments of drawings and prints hold the national collection of western prints and drawings. British museum houses one of the worlds greatest collection of Ethnographic material from Africa, Americas and Oceania. It represents the cultures of indigenous people through out the world. British museum also contains the departments of coins and medals, prehistory, conservation, documentation and science etc.

Underwater World in Singapore

UNDER WATER WORLD is an oceanarium (large aquarium) located on the offshore Singapore island of Sentosa. It is one of the Asia’s most exciting large aquariums. It was opened in 1991, it is a home for more than 2,500 marine animals of 250 species from different parts of the world. In this under water world visitors can look to different ocean creatures.

It is a tunnel under the sea. Underwater world is 83 meters long , visitors can walk through it where they can experience marine animals swimming right over their head. You can experience here sharks, poisonous lion fish, endangered gaint turtles, sea horses, pufferfish etc. you can also find restaurants near to the underwater world. In the evenings you can have the romantic experience. You should visit the musical fountain it makes the colorful end of the wonderful day. The opening time is 9 am and closing time is 9 pm. Amritsar Golden Temple

The GOLDEN TEMPLE or Darbar Sahib or Dari Mandir situated in Amritsar, Punjab is the holiest shrine for Sikhs. Previously known as the Golden Temple, in March 2005 it was renamed as Harmandir Sahib. The Sikhs all over the world visit to Sri Amritsar to worship the God. 100 kilograms of Gold were applied in 19th century to the inverted lotus shaped Dome and marbles were added. 

The Afghans and other invaders occupied Sri HarMandir many a times and destroyed. The Sikhs has to scarify their lives every time in order to restore its sancity. After the death of Bhai Mani Singhji in 1737, Massa Ranghar, the Kotwal of Amritsar took charge of Sri HarMandir Sahib in 1740. Sri Harmandir Sahib is built on a platform (67 ft. sq) in the centre of tank(Sarovar). The temple is 40 ft. sq. The doors are present on the four sides i.e; east, west, north and south. The mandir is surrounded by water is a sacred pool known as the Amrit Sarovar, Pool of Nectar. The visitors can reach the temple through Parikrama , which is in a clockwise direction. A dinning hall was present known as Guru-Ka-Langer around 35,000 people can feed for free a day. The opening time of temple in summer is 7 am and closing time is 8 pm and in winter opening time is 7 am and closing time 7 pm. The restrictions to the visitors that they should not enter to the temple while they drink alcohol, eat meat, smoke cigarettes or other drugs. While entering to the temple people should cover their head by cloth.

BABA ATAL:

It’s a nine stored tower build in memory of Atal Rai. It was built between 1778 and 1784. Its height is 108 ft.

GURU-KA-LANGER:

It is a dinning hall around 35,000 people can feed for free a day.

SRI GURU RAMDAS NIVAS:

It’s a free hostel for the temple authorities. It has 18 big halls and 228 rooms. It provides free facilities to the people. The visitors are not allowed to stay more than three days.

Sydney Opera House

SYDNEY OPERA HOUSE is considered as one of the wonders of the world. OPERA HOUSE is the most popular icon of Sydney with tourists visiting from all over the world. It is the cultural centre of Sydney. The opera house situated on Sydney harbor at Bennelong point, Australia. It was build by Danish architect, JORN UTZON and he received Pritzker prize in 2003. It was opened by queen Elizabeth II on 20 october 1973.It is one of the great building of the 20th century.


Opera house is surrounded on three sides of the harbor (Sydney cove,  Farm cove and Royal botanic gardens). The building covers 1.8 hectares of land, and is 120 meters  wide and 180 meters long at its widest point. Its power supply is equivalent to that of town people (25,000), and is distributed by 645 kilometers of electrical cable. It opened with an opera theatre, concert hall, recital hall and drama theatre. It also contains bars and restaurants. A fifth theatre was also added to it. Opera house contains 1000 rooms. It conducts 3000 events per year.

.The concert hall contain 2679 seats, is the home of the Sydney symphony and it is by other concert presenters. It contains the Sydney opera house grand organ with 10,000 pipes.

.The opera theatre is a proscenium theater contains 1507 seats, is the Sydney home of Australian ballet and the opera Australia.

.The drama theater contains 544 seats is used by the Sydney theater company and theatrical  presenters.

It also contains five restaurants, a recording studio, four souvenir shops and a guided tour operation. 

Artificial Beach in Japan

The Japanese are always interested for inventing new things. This time Japanese invented biggest indoor ARTIFICIAL BEACH. ARTIFICIAL BEACHES gains more popularity in the whole world. This beach is similar to real beach but all the things present in this beach are artificial. This beach is cool and large ocean Dome. Approximately 10,000 tourists and 6 football pitches can place in this beach. The weather is always great, warm and cool. People can lie on the artificial beach among the artificial palm trees and enjoy the sounds of the artificial tide. The real beach is 300 meters far away for this beach.

It is situated on japan’s  southernmost Kyushu island. This artificial beach is 85 meter long and it contains many shops. In ocean dome once every hour the surf is always up and every afternoon is a carnival. The air temperature is always kept around 30 degrees Celsius and water temperature is around 28 degrees Celsius. It’s a perfect climate for all age groups and it is salt free water. A heated ocean with a width of 140 meters sends 13,500 tons of salt free water sweeping across 600 tons of polished marble chips that constitute a 85 meter long shoreline. Every 15 min the volcano becomes active and every hour it produces artificial flames. This is a real excitement for the people who visit to this beach. This is a place where that the people think that they are part of nature. The fee is expensive more than 50$ for adults plus various entertainments.

Beauty of Borra Caves

                    Borra caves is also known as Borra Guhalu(Borra means brain and guhalu means caves) are located in the Araku valley of the Ananthagiri  hills on the east coast of india. They occupy an area of about 2 square km. It is about  800 to 1300 metres in height above sea level.  The entrance of the cave is about 100m horizontally  and 75m vertically height. The caves are one of the largest and most attractive caves in the country. The opening time of borra caves is 10 am and closing time is 5:30 pm.

                  Borra caves are present in the Borra village and panchayat in Ananthagiri mandal in Vishakapatnam( It is also known as VIZAG) district. Borra caves are located at a distanc of 90 km from vizag. It is about 4 hours journey we can go there by Bus, Train or private vechicle. The river GOSTHANI flows beside the caves. We can hear a sound of the flowing GOSTHANI river from inside the cave. These caves are natural caves they are created due to the flow of river from the lime stone area. There is an entry fee of about Rs. 25.

                Shiva lingam is the major attraction found deep in the caves and above it a stone formation of a cow is present. People come here to worship the god and enjoy by watching the caves. Inside the caves shapes such as temple, crocodile, church etc. Are present to capture the imaginations of tourists. The caves are beautifully decorated by mercury, halogen lamps,  and sodium vapour.
